Preparing for your Henna

Come with Clean, Product Free Skin:

Avoid lotions, oils, perfumes, or sunscreen on the area. Henna stains best on bare, clean skin. Products can block the dye which may result in a lighter or patchy stain.

Please Shave the area at least 24 Hours Prior:

Unshaved skin can cause uneven, splotchy lines. Freshly shaved skin can be sensitive and cause irritation and/or may not stain as evenly.

Eat Beforehand & Stay Hydrated:

Low Blood Sugar = fidgety clients. Being comfortable helps you sit still, which means cleaner designs.

Avoid Water Right Before your Appointment

Water can temporarily tighten the skin and affect how the henna absorbs.

Dry skin = better stain.

Important: Plan for Dry Time

Henna paste needs to sit on the skin for several hours. Make sure you don't have to rush off and use that area right away.

Wear Loose, Comfortable Clothing

Your design will need time to dry. Choose clothing that won't rub, smudge, or press against the henna.

Bonus Tip:

 Warmer skin = darker stain

Henna loves warmth. If you tend to run cold, keeping your body warm during your appointment can help deepen the color.

 Know your Schedule After

Try to avoid activities that involve sweating, washing, or friction (like workouts or tight shoes for the rest of the day.
